1998 East Africa Bombing

1998 East Africa Bombing

TERRORISM CLAIM LAWYERS IN WASHINGTON, DC

On the morning of August 7, 1998, trucks laden with explosives approached the U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Both attempted to gain entry and detonated at nearly the same time, between 10:30am and 10:40am local time, killing 224 people and wounding over 5,000. 12 of the people who lost their lives in the Kenya bombing were American citizens.

The attacks were linked to the Egyptian Islamic Jihad and al-Qaeda. The attack is what brought Osama bin Laden to the attention of the U.S. public for the first time and initiated his placement on the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) list of 10 most-wanted fugitives. Since the attacks, over 20 people have been indicted in the United States for their involvement in the bombings. 8 are currently serving prison terms.

It has been 20 years since these terrorist attacks, but victims are still suffering. At Fay Law Group, we continue to fight for the injured and lost. We are currently representing victims and families of the 1998 East Africa embassy bombings, pursuing the compensation that can provide a helping hand while holding at-fault parties accountable for their involvement in these acts of terrorism.
