D.C. car crash leads to injuries and 1 fatality

A recent accident in the northeast part of Washington, D.C., resulted in five injuries and left one person dead. The car crash involved four different vehicles, and the driver who initiated the chain-reaction car accident is currently facing criminal charges for his role in the incident. It is believed that speed was a significant factor in the severity of the damage caused.

The accident occurred in late afternoon as two vehicles were traveling north on Eastern Avenue. The first vehicle, a Chrysler, moved across the center line while traveling at a high speed, hitting the back of a Honda. The Chrysler spun, collided with an SUV, flipped and hit a utility pole. At this point, the driver of the Chrysler fled the scene of the accident, but was later apprehended. Due to the initial impact, the Honda struck two other vehicles, and this driver died as a result of the injuries she suffered.

In addition to the one fatality, there were five other people who were injured in this accident, two of them children. While the injuries were serious, Washington, D.C., law enforcement stated that none were life-threatening. The incident is still under investigation, but the family of the deceased and those who were injured would be wise to explore their legal options.

Speeding is incredibly dangerous, and as this car crash shows, it can have devastating consequences. Those who are harmed by this negligent action have the right to a full and fair recovery. An experienced personal injury attorney can explain how one may obtain financial compensation.
