What are some problems with tires in the summer months?

When you're driving, you may be most concerned with the negligence of other drivers. Things like talking on the phone or texting while driving are dangerous, but they aren't the only things that can cause an accident.

In the summer, hot air can make your tires expand. That means that a car with too much air in its tires could end up in a collision if a tire pops. Checking your tire pressure can prevent this from happening. Despite this, it's one of the most neglected services on a car.

When you fill your tires, you need to check the recommended PSI. This should be on the sidewall of the tire. Why is this important? Low tire pressure can wear your tires down and make it hard to turn your vehicle. If a puncture causes this, the tire could eventually go flat. If the tire pressure is too high, on the other hand, it can be hard to control your vehicle, and it may not turn like you expect. The tires have less contact with the road, so there is less friction to keep you moving where you want to go. Overinflated tires can blow up, and that's a serious risk to you if you're inside the vehicle or if you're a driver next to a car that has this happen.

When a tire blows, it's hard to control the vehicle, particularly if the vehicle is moving at a high speed. The tire could come loose and debris could be thrown around the road. This can cause drivers like yourself to wreck, leading to lawsuits or legal action against the negligent driver.
