Robot doctors could be the future in surgery

Humans make mistakes; there's no way for anyone on the planet to be perfect. Doctors, nurses and other medical practitioners often struggle with this, because being anything less than perfect can mean a patient suffers injuries or other complications.

If you've suffered from medical malpractice, you know you can make a claim with the help of your attorney. What the future could hold is a chance to go into surgery without the risk of malpractice.

With the advance of robotics, there are better chances of patients having surgeries without the risk of things like the slip of a scalpel or a large opening for a surgeon's hand. Instead, these robots are able to work inside tiny incisions and make precise movements, something even the best surgeons could struggle with.

Robotics allow for machines to filter out things like hand tremors and can allow for smaller work on sensitive parts of the body. Today's robots are still under human control, but that may not always be the case. Would that even be possible, though? The technology industry thinks so. Robots can be precise and efficient when humans could be clumsy, and robot stitches can even be tighter and more accurate than the sutures made by a human surgeon.

The systems that are being created aren't ready for use on humans, but they could represent a new wave in medical technology that could reduce the risk to patients. Surgical robots make decisions already; for instance, the robot in a vision correction surgery plots the laser pulses to resurface the layer of the eye itself. When humans get hair transplants, smart robots found at some clinics identify and harvest the most robust follicles on the patient's head and prepares them for transplant.
