Mother loses family in sudden car accident in Maryland

When you go out on the town, it might be with family or friends. All of your best friends or closest family members are with you, so imagining an accident that takes them away from you is devastating. If the unthinkable happens, there's a chance you can recover the expenses you put into medical care and other needs, but that won't bring back those you love.

That's the situation that happened in this case when a woman and her family were involved in a serious car accident. Two cars that were driving close to 106 mph, according to police, collided with the family's vehicle, splitting their Nissan Sentra in two and tearing their youngest daughter, along with her car seat, out of the vehicle.

In the horrific accident, the racing vehicles had reached speeds well beyond the 45 mph speed limit when they struck the family; their negligence is the center of a court battle today.

When the crash took place, the woman's husband was behind the wheel of their family car; they pulled out into an intersection carrying the woman's brother and daughter in the vehicle with them. The impact tore the Sentra apart, and a secondary impact took place when the second racing vehicle collided with the initial accident.

The woman in this case was the only survivor. In court, the defense tried to find out if her husband had driven with any negligence, but with the speeds the other drivers were traveling, it was clear he would have no time to get out of the way or see the vehicles before impact.
