Collision between firetruck and van leads to 7 injured victims

Multiple-vehicle crashes are particularly dangerous to those involved. While a single crash is bad enough, those involved in multi-vehicle crashes can be hit several times before the collision resolves itself. If you've been involved in one, it can be complicated to know who is to blame. Even in a two-vehicle accident, there are situations when you can't be 100 percent sure who should be held liable for the collision. It could be the other driver, another vehicle, or even the city for defective traffic lights.

In a case out of Washington, D.C., seven people were reported as hurt when a van and a firetruck collided. The news reports that the collision took place at 11th Street and Maryland Avenue, NE. It was around 9:40 a.m., and the firetruck was on its way to a gas leak report when the crash took place.

In the collision, four of the firefighters were injured. Three suffered only minor injuries, while the fourth suffered major injuries in the collision. Two civilians suffered critical injuries, while a third suffered serious injuries. Fortunately, none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, according to the report, and all the individuals are expected to recover.

Police based in Washington, D.C. are now investigating the collision to see what exactly cause the two vehicles to collide with each other. They have not reported on whether speed, inattention, or other factors played a role in the crash. If there was any kind of violation, it's possible that one of the drivers will face not only civil penalties but also criminal charges.
