Dangerous products caused by defects in manufacturing

Anytime a consumer uses a product, the consumer expects that the product will be in good shape. When there are defects with the way the product was manufactured, the consumer might be the one to suffer. Sadly, even with the improvements in technology, the incidence of defects in manufacturing that lead to consumer injury are still prevalent.

A defect in manufacturing is something that occurs to weaken or corrupt the product in a manner that wasn't intended. These defective products can something like a faulty metal hip replacement or a bottle of juice that contains a metal fragment. In all cases of defects in manufacturing, the product goes away from what it is intended to do despite the careful planning of the manufacturer.

Generally, it doesn't matter what caused the defect in the product if the defect occurred during the manufacturing process. As long as the defect is there and a consumer is harmed by it, the manufacturer is usually held responsible for the costs associated with the injury.

When an injury is caused by a defect in manufacturing, proving the defect was present can sometimes cause problems. This is the case when the defect damaged the product in such a way that the product isn't able to be presented. In that case, photos of the product and other related evidence might help. Because of the potential challenge associated with proving fault, it is always advisable to ensure you have a good understanding of the laws surrounding this type of product liability lawsuit before you file your claim in a Washington, District of Columbia court.
