Sophomore killed in hit-and-run car accident

In Washington, D.C., traffic is heavy and accidents can be high risk. When crowds of people are in the area, an incident like this could quickly lead to injuries and deaths. If you've lost someone you love to a hit-and-run accident like this case, then you may want to consider your options for regaining compensation.

In a report from April 13, it was stated that a student from Texas who was attending school at Goucher College in Maryland had been struck by a car. The report on that date said that the student had been seriously injured. Sadly, an updated report from April 15 revealed that the young man had died.

The report from WBALTV states that the 19-year-old student was hit by a drunken driver in Baltimore County at around 1:45 a.m. on April 13. He was crossing the street when a car that was headed north in the right turn lane on Dulaney Valley Road struck him. The car kept going.

The teen recently passed away from his injuries at Shock Trauma on April 14, leaving behind a family who may want to take steps against the driver who has been found and identified. According to the news from WBALTV, police were able to locate the driver and then charged her with citations for driving under the influence and for hit-and-run. She has been released, according to the news.

In this particular case, the police spokeswoman claimed that the 23-year-old woman driving the vehicle was found to be at fault in the accident. At the moment, the woman is not facing any additional charges, but police stated that the state attorney's office will have to review the case and then decide if she should be charged further for the accident. The news has reported that although she is allegedly at fault, the 19-year-old she struck was not in a crosswalk, despite the fact that one was nearby.
