Anti-speeding ads crack down on car accident numbers?

Reckless driving accidents are responsible for thousands of deaths every year. Despite the many attempts made by police officers to warn drivers and increase messages of safety via local and federal agencies during the holidays, the accidents still unfortunately happen. The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) has recently released an ad to warn against the dangers of speeding and decrease car accident numbers.

Another state's DOT also produced a series of commercials to decrease reckless driving accidents. Meanwhile, the DC DDOT and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) created a video lasting three minutes long to spread awareness of the harmful aftermath of speeding accidents. The video plays out like a mini documentary, featuring the MPD chief, head of DDOT and health professionals sharing their accounts of the gruesome injuries they see from victims of speed-related accidents.

The campaign is entitled "Toward Zero Deaths" and is intended to help the public recognize the importance of this issue. The message sent is one of true concern from law enforcement officials and medical professionals. They know firsthand the steep price that is paid for speeding and reckless driving in general.

Reckless drivers can cause serious injuries and fatal accidents in the District of Columbia every day. By definition, reckless driving endangers the safety of other motorists on the highway. Serious accidents that are caused by other drivers and their failure to disregard the traffic laws and safety of others by speeding, driving after drinking, tailgating, racing or weaving dangerously in traffic can analyze legal options for compensation due to injury, or worse. DC residents can seek knowledge of their legal rights immediately following a car accident caused by the recklessness or negligence of other drivers.
