Truck accident kills Turnpike worker, pronounced dead on scene

For people who are commuting to and from Washington, District of Columbia, driving on the New Jersey Turnpike might be a normal daily activity. While you are on the Turnpike, keeping a vigilant watch over everything going on around you is vital to ensure that you and the others on the road remain safe. When drivers miss anything that is going on, the effects can be catastrophic. An accident that happened on July 10 in Kearny shows how tragic accidents on the Turnpike can be.

The truck accident happened when a Turnpike maintenance man was getting a piece of tire debris off the road on the northbound western spur of the Turnpike. He had his vehicle stopped on the side of the road when the fatal accident occurred. He was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet box truck.

About 13 minutes after the accident was reported, the man was pronounced dead. That declaration was made on the scene of the accident at 11:03 in the morning. There weren't any other injuries reported. No charges have been filed.

The family members of this 32-year-old worker now has to face the reality that their loved one will never walk through the door again. They will also have to learn how to survive without his income.

Anyone who loses a loved one to a tragic accident that was caused by someone else's actions or negligence has the right to seek compensation for their loss. Knowing how to do this might help to take some of the stress out of the process so that they can focus on trying to heal from the shock of their loss. While financial compensation won't ever replace their loved one, it might help them to be able to move forward down their new life path.
